منذُ بدأتُ المسير

على قدمَيْن

لمْ أنظُرْ للخلفِ أبدًا

ولم أسِرْ

خلفَ قطيعِ السَّائرين

وأقسمْتُ أنْ لا أُصفِّقَ بيديَّ أبدًا

حتّى لنفسي

عشتُ غريبًا....

كما أردتُ

..........وسأموتُ غريبًا

كما أحبَبْتُ........

على طاولتي الصَّغيرة

فوقَ أوراقِ غاباتِ الخَيالِ والظِّلال

والحنين

أفترشُ الأرضَ، أتوسَّدُ الصَّخرَ

وغطائي غبارُ البَحر

وما تنامى من عشبِ الحِبْر

على مفاصل خشب العمر من ملحٍ

حزين

وستجدونني ذات صُبحٍ مُمدَّدًا

بيَدٍ أكتب للحلم

وبيدٍ أرسمُ للوَهم

لا دَيْن عليّ

ولا لي..........

ولا خوفَ عليَّ أو مِنّي

ولا عتبَ لي أو عليّ

إلّا لقصيدةٍ

كنتُ أُحبُّ أن أكتبَها

فكتَبَتْني

وأغرقَتني

بزُرقةٍ تفيضُ من عيونِ

من يظنُّون أنّي

كنتُ مجتهدًا .. بعشقِ الآخرين.

The Stranger

Since the time I started walking on two feet

I have never ever looked back

Or walked behind the herd of those marching in front

And I swore never to clap my two hands, even for my own self

I lived as I wanted , a stranger

and I will die a stranger, as I like on my table

upon the leaves of fantasy forests, shadows and yearning

taking the ground as my bed , and the rock as my pillow

Whereas the dust of the sea

together with the ink grass

growing out of sad salt on the joints of age wood

will be my cover.

And you will find me lying stretched one morning

writing for dream with one hand

and drawing for illusion with the other

Neither in nor out of debt

Neither frightened nor frightening

Neither blaming nor blamed

except by a poem I used to like to write

then it wrote me

and got me drowned in a blueness overflowing

the eyes of those who wrongly thought

I was at great pains to get the adoration of the others
